Skyped Dot today and we had another inky messy crafty session (Dot do luv them there inks) and below is what I made, a very sweet looking set of twins.

Used a stamp from  Stampotique called Topher and Mr Super Cool has nothing on this pair.

A Butterfly Time At FSC

FSC this month is having a Butterfly time and the lovely Dot chose the theme for us all, I really hope you will join in this month.

A vibrant and cheerful card just to put me in the mood for Spring.  Went with a yellow, orange and blue colour palette plus I used four stamps to create this piece, they are:

Dina Wakley Silhouetted Women, Studio 490 Original Art, Rangers Wings Quote and Finnabair Butterfly 3.

Shirley 1

The butterflies are all 3D and the top two are flying her into the air.

To get this dimension, first stamp onto your card then re-stamp onto a spare piece of cardstock, cut out and layer over the original stamped image.

I would love it if you hopped on over to see all the DT’s work as they are simply stunning.  Also don’t forget that the winner of this challenge has $20 to choose anything they like from Flonz’s store.

A Twinkle In Their Eyes

There is definitely a twinkle in the eyes of those ladies as they look at Mr Handsome.

The ladies (which is a Hero Arts stamp) are stamped onto die cut tickets … not sure but I think the stamp is discontinued, you may still find it on e-bay.

Made the background with various stamps and white paint.  Distress inks used are Broken China, Evergreen Bough and Stormy Sky.

Black Versafine was used for the main stamping and the sewing machine also made an appearance.

FSC – Sunset/Sunrise

FSC this month is having a Sunset/Sunrise kind of moment.  Sandra chose this fun theme for us all at FSC and I really hope you will join in with us.  Sandra’s inspiration came from looking out of her window and seeing the most amazing sunrise.

Finally got to use my set of Cityscapes stamps from Stampers Anonymous along with an old SU set called Sense Of Time.

Stamping the ‘Time For Reflection’ was a bit fiddly as I only had one ‘e’ in the set and also they were the teeeniest alphabet stamps imaginable!!!!

I would love it if you hopped on over to see all the DT’s work as they are simply stunning.  Also don’t forget that the winner of this challenge has $20 to choose anything they like from Flonz’s store.

Flowers And Birds 3D Door Hanger

Uhhh Ohhh, today’s class is going to get messy and inky with this delicious looking door hanger.

Whilst mooching at the craft fair at Sandown Park Racecourse, I saw some grey board door hangers which I knew the girls would love to have a go at decorating so voila that’s exactly what we are doing today.  The flowers and bird are very dimensional and I have used Pinflair glue to add height.

Stamps are from Stamping Up called Picture Perfect.  Love these as they are a three step process to get the rose effect and I used three different coloured inks before cutting out.  The cut out leaves are also a three step process stamp.

Mr Bird is a four step process to get his gorgeous look.  For the background the script paper was mod podged onto the hanger then the edges were sanded for a smooth finish.

When stamping onto the script paper I used the Timeless Textures set (also an SU product) .

Now that stonkingly cute looking bird on the branch was created by using molding paste through an Imaginations Crafts stencil.  When dry he was coloured with inks and white paint.  White paint was also dabbed around the edges of the hanger.

Hope you enjoy this one girls x x

Pretty Victorian Bobbin

Not long back from the UK for Alex’s birthday, he has just turned 16!!!!   Flitting back and forth to the UK for my three grandchildren’s birthdays is the norm for me at this time of year.

Being at home this time worked out really well as I was able to go to the Sandown Park Craft Show.  Clare, Lauren and myself even managed to get into a make and take with the MDF Man.

For this week’s class instead of making a card we made a very pretty Victorian Bobbin Reel.  This was done with a toilet roll and two die cut circles.  The classes are only two hours long, which always extends into three, so the girls didn’t get to finish and had to take home to complete.

Long time since I have done pretty pretty and this ‘Bobbin Reel’ is extremely sweet looking.

When the bow is untied the linen, lace and burlap, which I stitched one on top of the other to form a band, unravels and reveals some very pretty ephemera inside.

The sewing machine even made an appearance along with some white paint but I went quite sparingly with the stamping.

Most of the things used on this piece are all elements that didn’t make the muster on other projects so were thrown into a bit box.

Graphic 45 are some of the papers used inside the roll which is such a great way to use up those odds and ends of paper snippets.

Art On Her Mind

Masking, stamping and inking was definitely the fun part of this card and even I can’t believe that 2013 was the last time I dusted this little stamp off.  She’s from PaperArtsy called Dolls Plate 1.  The suitcases came from another ancient stamp set and the sentiment is a Wendy Vecchi called Art On Her Mind from Studio 490.

To get the octagonal design in the middle I used the Large Octagon dies from Spellbinders to make the masks.

Sticky Backed Canvas

Bet I’m not the only one with the dreaded cold but thankfully it’s nearly gone.  Didn’t feel like making anything so I am showing something that I made about 8 months ago.  It was when Irene was over for a holiday and we toured the West of Ireland.

Had a play with sticky backed canvas which I stuck onto one of the pages of a little gatefold album.  Used DI inks and also a mask from Andy Skinner called ‘Made To Measure’.  Only used elements from this mask but I also used two other masks which I can’t remember the names of.

Might not have made anything this week but I have been playing with my Christmas Present.

Wahooooo I got a Brother Scan and Cut.  Been having the time of my life with loads of paper being scanned.  Finally cut into some of those G45 papers that were bought only for stroking.

Brushos & Dot

Dot and I had another Skyping session and this time we used our Brushos.

These are a new addition to Dot’s crafting stash but I have had mine a while … holding up my hands in shame as I have not used them very much.

You can see one of my makes herehow sad is it that I made this a year ago and this was the last time I used the Brushos.

We experimented by using different cardstock with them and making  some very vibrant coloured backgrounds.  Can’t wait to see what Dot makes with her backgrounds.

Because of the time difference Dot scooted off to bed but I had time to turn my finished backgrounds into three different cards.

So Special from Katzelkraft is the main focal point on my first card – also used other stamps and a stencil.

1

Two more close up pics.

For my second background I used only two colours and some very different stamps.  The ladies are from Hero Arts and the coffee from Stampendous.  The bubbles are a fave little background stamp of mine and I love adding little doodles in the centres.

4

Grunged the edges on the last card and used stamps from Dyan Reaveley called The Right Words also a Visible Image stamp.
